One-on-One Coaching
With an emphasis on self-discovery and self-reflection, my students submit powerful applications that capture why they will shine and thrive at each college they apply. When I work with students from start to finish, their hard work has literally paid off*
Over 90% of students were admitted into their top (1st or 2nd) choice school
Over 90% of students received merit scholarships
$1,500-$55,000: Range of Annual Scholarships awarded - per student, per college, per year
$10,000-$175,000: Total Annual Scholarships offered - per student, per year, all colleges
100% of students reported increased self-knowledge & confidence
100% of parents observed positive growth in their teen
*While these numbers are a reflection of the guidance my coaching programs provide teens, these numbers equally reflect the hard work, flexibility, and dedication that each teen put into their admission process. Because college admissions and financial aid awards are based on so many variables that shift year to year, I cannot guarantee outcomes for any of my clients.
College Research
Simply put, teens are not taught how to research colleges. They are directed to college databases that use bizarre metrics to help create a random list of colleges. What then? Most teens (and parents) still do not know how to effectively navigate a college website even when they have a list of colleges to look through.
After 3 hours with me, you’ll walk away with a personalized list of meaningful criteria and the tools to make sense from college websites, including:
Personalized College Fit Criteria
Personalized Step-by-Step Tutorial Based on YOUR College Fit Criteria
Recordings of your Personalized College Website Search Method
College Research Tracking Sheet to Help Organize Your Observations into powerful Supplemental Application Essays (when colleges ask “Why do you want to go to our college?” you’ll know exactly what to write and your response will showcase your strong research skills!)
Google Chat Voice & Text Support for parents & teen for an extended period
Personal Statement Guidance
Over the past two decades, I have helped over a thousand students apply to college. After working one-on-one with so many students, I started to notice which of my questions helped teens open up the most. Then, I became a mom and experienced what I call “toddler moments” - precious stories that resonate with parents because they showcase their child’s standout qualities and strengths.
I used these observations to develop a parent questionnaire and a teen questionnaire using my most reliable insight-producing questions. These questionnaires evolved into a three stage process that helps teens create a personal statement that they are excited to write and proud to show off.
If you are interested in personal statement coaching, you’ll have access to this time-honed questionnaire. Then, we’ll meet virtually to talk through your responses. I’ll ask questions and help you connect the dots. Once we identify the topic of your essay that feels right, you’ll go off and write your story! If you’d like more support, I can provide coaching to help with time management, writing strategies, as well as editing from your lousy first draft to a polished masterpiece.
